Ethos and Beacon Team
At Christ Church we encourage all children to make a difference and be 'Beacons of Light' in the community.
Ethos Group
Each year, children who would like to be part of our Ethos team apply for the role. The Ethos group meet regularly. They are a dedicated group of pupils who endeavour to maintain our Church school ethos and ensure our vision is adhered to. They carry out various tasks, such as school learning walks, helping with Collective Worship and Communion, planning 'Values Days', delivering lessons to classes, helping with Prayer spaces around school and together thinking of ideas for further improving our school and upholding its Vision.
"I enjoy being in the ethos team because you get to help the school community and develop christian values across school." (Lucca, Year 6)
"I like being in the ethos team because we get to know God more and become more familiar with the bible." (Mary, Year 4)
"I like being in the ethos team because we do crafts and learn about God. I like crafts and God." (Evie, Year 2)
Beacon Group
The Beacons are our school council. During the school year two children from each class represent their class. The Beacons do numerous activities such as raising money for charities and helping put forward important ideas and changes in school.
Last year the Beacons led our healthy eating campaign. They have been worked hard to spread the message of why we should have healthy snacks. The children hosted their own assembly; leading a fitness video. They also conducted a healthy eating poster competition for all of the school.
The children have got more events which will be happening in the coming months!
"It is really fun organising things to help others and I love keeping fit too." Bella
We also have Year 6 children who take responsibilities in being Head Boy or Girl, Prefects, Road Safety Officers, Librarians and Sport Champions.
