Learning Mentor

Hello I am Miss Goold the Learning Mentor at Christ Church!

I would like to offer a warm welcome to you as part of our family here at Christ Church Church of England Primary School.  My name is Miss Goold and I am the School Safeguarding and Learning Mentor.

You will See me most morning’s welcoming all of our children and families through the school gates.
My role within our school is part of the designated safeguarding lead team as well as leading our pastoral care. I address any safeguarding issues that may arise following appropriate procedures. I often meet with parent’s and carers who are facing difficult times to support by working through a strategy plan to overcome challenges. I am also able to offer TAF (team around the family) plans or represent a child and family as part of a TAF for families who feel they require additional support. I will also make referrals to appropriate agencies when our families need support beyond what we can offer such as, young carers and school health. I also work in partnership with outside agencies as a support to our families.
Attendance is very important to ensuring our children get the the most out of their education. I work alongside our attendance officer Mrs Weston helping families with support plans to improve attendance.
I am the school’s ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) enabling our children to have one to one sessions to support their wellbeing and help manage barriers to learning in a child friendly tailored approach.
I will be here to guide children transitioning from Pre-school through to secondary school.
If you feel there is an area I can be of assistance with or just to listen please do come and see me or contact our office to book an appointment.
